Getting started
Create an account
Follow the in-app steps, then immediately keep your recovery code in a secure location only you can access. Do not send it to others as a screenshot.
Add contacts
Allow contact access, or connect through an EasyChat ID, username, QR code, or link. Declining contact access does not prevent manual connections.
Transfer to a new device
The app uses the local network only when you start a transfer. Keep both devices unlocked and connected to a stable network.
Version information
Find the app version at the bottom of Settings. Include the iOS version, device model, and reproduction steps when reporting an issue.
Account and recovery code
- Your recovery code is an important account-recovery credential. Store it offline or in a trusted password manager.
- EasyChat support will not initiate contact asking for a complete recovery code, verification code, device password, or Face ID information.
- If phone or email binding is marked unavailable in your version, do not rely on that channel for account recovery.
- If you lose the recovery code and cannot use an already-bound verification channel, support may be unable to recover end-to-end encrypted data.
Messages and attachments
A message remains in “sending” state
- Confirm internet access and temporarily disable a VPN or proxy that may block persistent connections.
- Allow EasyChat to use cellular data in iOS Settings.
- Keep the app open for several seconds and retry. Do not repeatedly uninstall; uninstalling can remove local messages.
An attachment will not upload or download
Check available storage, photo permission, and network quality. Large files can take longer on cellular networks. Do not remove the app until you have confirmed a backup or device transfer.
Voice and video calls
- Confirm microphone and camera permissions and close another app that may be using them.
- Switch between Wi‑Fi and cellular data to rule out firewall, VPN, or enterprise-network restrictions.
- If audio is missing, check mute, Bluetooth output, and system volume.
- Call-quality feedback and diagnostic logs are sent only when you choose to submit them.
Notifications and incoming calls
- Open iOS Settings → Notifications → EasyChat and enable Allow Notifications.
- Review Focus, Low Power Mode, and background network restrictions.
- Keep system date and time set automatically.
- After reinstalling or moving devices, open EasyChat while online to register a new push token.
Permissions and privacy
EasyChat asks for contacts, camera, photos, microphone, location, notifications, local network, and device authentication only when related features need them. Review or revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security or EasyChat. Some features stop working without their permission, but your account and basic chats are not automatically deleted.
See the EasyChat Privacy Policy for data practices, retention, and privacy rights.
Delete your account
Path: EasyChat → Settings → Account & Security → Delete Account.
After confirmation, the app requests server-side account deletion and clears local app data. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account. Messages already delivered to recipients may remain on their devices. Deletion normally begins immediately and active-system cleanup is completed within no more than 30 days; residual backups are ordinarily overwritten or removed within up to 90 days.
If the in-app deletion control is unavailable, email us with the subject “EasyChat Account Deletion.” To prevent impersonation, we may verify through the registered device or another reasonable method, but we will not ask for your complete recovery code.
Security notice
Beware of impersonation. We will not start an unsolicited chat asking for recovery codes, verification codes, payment details, or remote access to your device. Do not open unknown “account recovery” or “security verification” links.
If you suspect compromise, stop sharing sensitive information, update your device passcode, review linked devices, and contact us through the official email below.
